打敗菜英文
撰文:陳 免
全球化趨勢,讓各國往來更加密切,也讓跨國性的世界語言變得更加重要,——它,就是英文。過去,會撂兩句英文可能就會被當作精英,但現在,不會說英語,不能寫英文,失去升遷機會是小事,更可能因此找不到工作,甚至被解職……。在英文從補品變成氧氣的時代,你,能不呼吸嗎?Posted by Poducate Me at 12:55 PM 0 comments

恢复繁体字
Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Size Does Matter
Tuesday, March 10, 2009
http://edu-podcast.blogspot.com/2009/03/size-does-matter.html
The upper torso of the hunting male is wide and tapers to narrow hips, whereas a woman's body is narrower at the shoulders and widens at the hips. Men evolved these features to allow them to lug heavy weapons over long distances and carry home their kills. The man’s chest developed to house large lungs enabling more effective distribution of oxygen and allowing him to breathe more efficiently when running and chasing. In past generations, the bigger his chest, the more respect and power a man commanded, and this is still the case with most surviving primitive tribes.
So women find the man’s chest attractive because of this primitive survival thinking.

Latin Salsa Dancing
At first, the Latin lifestyle was not something we can understand nor accept. Most people don't have too much money, but they are happy all the time. At least not before I realize the Salsa Dancing as a wonderful fitness program. Rather than hitting the gym, the salsa dancing actually burns more calorie and keeps you going back to it every night. Thanks to the "Dancing with the Stars" TV show, Salsa Dancing is now more than the Latino's street entertainment. but THE most popular ballroom dancing.

Author: Kristin Dodds, Joe Weiss, A.J. Hoge
Publisher: Learn Real English LLC
Publication date: 2008
Format / Quality: pdf (transcripts) + wma (good quality ~ 30 audio CDs)
Most English conversation programs don’t teach English conversation. The “conversations” in most books are fake - they are not real. Rather, these “conversations” are merely two actors reading a text.
To understand native speakers, you must listen to real conversations– not fake textbook actors. To speak easily to native speakers, you must use real conversations and lessons that help you understand them.
What is real English? It is the English that native speakers use in real conversations. REAL English includes slang and idioms. REAL English includes real pronunciation used by real people– not the pronunciation you hear on CNN or the BBC. REAL English comes from real conversations. Close your eyes. Now see yourself speaking excellent REAL English. Imagine yourself talking to native speakers. Imagine understanding their slang, their idioms, their fast speech. Imagine speaking fast. Imagine using slang and idioms correctly. Imagine speaking with excellent pronunciation.
It is possible in only 6 months!
The Learn Real English - Authentic Conversations Packs built on the Effortless English system. Each lesson set contains a real conversation between native speakers. No actors.
What you will learn:
+ A Huge Number Of Common Idioms - The slang you can’t find in a dictionary or textbook.
+ How To Automatically Speak Like A Native Speaker- Without thinking or translating.
+ How To Use Our Deep Learning Method - You naturally learn English words and grammar forever so you are confident about your speaking.
+ How To Understand Real English Conversations - You listen to REAL conversations between real people. No actors. We teach you the real, casual conversation that native English speakers use everyday with each other. This is not formal English. This is the real English that real people use.
+ The Main Method of our System - Throughout all the lessons you will learn grammar and vocabulary just like children do - naturally and without studying.
+ How To Study Like the Best - We show you how our best students have learned and studied so that you can copy those habits to create your success even faster.
+ How to Raise Your iBT TOEFL Scores - The new TOEFL requires a lot of both listening and speaking skills. Confidently raise your TOEFL speaking score by 20%, 30%, or up to 40%.

The best way to learn vocabulary is by listening to it. Audio lessons are 2-3X more effective than reading
vocabulary lessons. No more lists to memorize.
+ Listen & Answer Mini Stories
These are absolutely amazing lessons. They are powerful! By listening to mini-stories everyday, you will hear real English spoken and used naturally. And with this new type of lesson, you will learn how to speak and understand English easily and quickly.
+ Real English Conversations
Forget the same old boring lessons. These are REAL conversations by real native speakers. No actors. No reading. Real topics. Real slang and idioms. Real pronunciation. These are the key to your speaking. These are the key to understanding real native speakers.

Learn Spanish in a week - Linguaphone All Talk (8 CD's)
Author: Linguaphone All Talk
Publication date: 2007
Format / Quality: rar -> mp3
Size: 447 Мб
Linguaphone has been successfully teaching people Spanish and various other languages for a long time. Its style is to introduce the learner to a conversation in the target language, then break down the conversation into parts to teach the language aspects.
The part I like about this approach is that you hear the language in a conversational setting. You learn useful words for particular settings, for example meeting people, at the airport, in a restaurant, etc. It avoids learning difficult verb conjugations at the start and gives you the tools to understand and use the language. I’m sure that if the program was continued you would no doubt learn a lot.

Dunstan Baby Language
Author: Priscilla Dunstan
Publication date: 2006
Format / Quality: RAR->.nrg->Nero->DVD
Size: 2 DVD
Open
The Dunstan Baby Language teaches you to hear exactly what your baby is communicating. As a parent, you will be able to interpret your infant’s sounds and cries – and respond to their needs quickly and effectively.
Every newborn communicates from birth to 3 months uses 5 distinct sounds that signal hunger, tiredness, need to burp, lower wind/gas and discomfort. This is regardless of the language their parents speak. It is not a learned language. Rather, it is a natural way for every baby to express their physical needs.
The ‘words’ that form the basis of what we have called the Dunstan Baby Language, are sounds that are based on baby’s physical responses. These are called reflexes. For example, when a baby is hungry it will start to suck, and as sound is added to the reflex, the ‘word’ for hunger is produced. These are the baby’s first communications, which occur before actual crying develops. The sooner the ‘word’ for hunger is identified the sooner a parent can respond by feeding, resulting in less crying and less discomfort for baby - and for parents..
The Dunstan System will teach you how to tune your ear to the 5 ‘words’, take you through settling solutions, and gives helpful advice for parents. You will also view Priscilla Dunstan in a ‘live lesson’, teaching new mothers the System – with immediate results.
It was eight years of research that revealed this system of sounds – the language that is shared by all babies. We trust you will treasure the Dunstan Baby Language as your baby benefits from being is listened to – and truly heard.

British or American English - A Handbook of Word and Grammar Patterns
British or American English - A Handbook of Word and Grammar Patterns
Author:John Algeo
Publisher: Cambridge University Press
Publication date: 2006
Number of pages: 362
Format / Quality: pdf in RAR
Size: 2.91 MB
Language: English
The author of the book describes in detail the main differences between British and American versions of English. The book examines the differences at all levels of language: phonetic, lexical, phraseological and syntactical. The book is addressed to all who aspire to mastery of English.
Speakers of British and American English display some striking differences in their use of grammar. In this detailed survey, John Algeo considers questions
such as:
∗Who lives on a street, and who lives in a street?
∗Who takes a bath, and who has a bath?
∗Who says Neither do I, and who says Nor do I?
∗After “thank you”, who says Not at all and who says You’ re welcome?
∗Whose team are on the ball, and whose team is?
Containing extensive quotations from real-life English on both sides of the Atlantic, collected over the past twenty years, this is a clear and highly organized guide to the differences – and the similarities – in the grammar of British and American speakers. Written for those with no prior knowledge of linguistics, it shows how these grammatical differences are linked mainly to particular words, and provides an accessible account of contemporary English as it is actually used.
